Ageas UK has appointed Mark Collins as its new chief information officer.

In his role as chief information officer for Ageas, he will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of its IT strategy, ensuring that its approach to current and future technology evolves to meet the business challenges and customer preferences.

Collins has first-hand knowledge of the insurance industry, having worked as chief information officer at Vitality (previously known as PruHealth) since 2012.

With a proven track record as a senior leader in technology, Collins also brings with him a wealth of experience of strategic IT change programmes and operations acquired during his time at Vodafone.

As a senior leader within Ageas, Collins will contribute to the management and decision making of the wider business as part of the UK executive team.

Andy Watson, CEO of Ageas UK, commented: “With the evolving demands of technology, digital ecosystems, business model innovation and customer expectations, we’ve decided it appropriate to appoint a chief information officer to lead the development and delivery of our IT strategy.”

“Mark has a proven track record for developing successful IT operations at high profile organisations and I’m confident that he will make a valued contribution as part of our executive team.”

Collins added: “I am excited to be starting at Ageas and really looking forward to contributing towards helping the company continue to grow and transform in a highly competitive and challenging market.”
