Carpenters becomes associate ABI member

Insurance claims and legal services provider Carpenters Group has become an associate member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

Carpenters has joined around 30 other associate members of the ABI, which set up the category in 2016 for those with an interest in insurance and the work of the association but are not eligible for full membership.

ABI director general Huw Evans welcomed the firm as a new associate member. He said: “It’s great to have Carpenters on board as our latest associate member. We have a long-standing and collaborative relationship with the Carpenters team and work together on a range of challenging public policy issues.”

One such issue will be the Civil Liability Act, said Evans. “With the Civil Liability Act on the statute book, it is important for insurers and claimant law firms to improve our dialogue in the interests of the customers we both serve. I look forward to deepening this relationship even further as we work together in the future.”

Carpenters director Donna Scully added: “Better collaboration across the sector is not an option, but essential if we are to combat the evolving threat of fraud in the future claims environment. Associate membership of the ABI will better enable us to work more closely with our insurance clients and the wider insurance industry on sharing data and intelligence and more actively contribute to the industry fight to stay ahead of the fraudsters.”
