Emma obtained a law degree at the Polytechnic of Central London before studying for the Law Society Finals at the Guildford College of Law.

She trained at a small city firm, Walker Martineau, and three years post-qualification, joined Medical Protection Society (MPS) panel firm Le Brasseur J Tickle, now RadcliffesLeBrasseur, undertaking a mix of clinical negligence and regulatory work. In 1997, Emma came to work in-house at MPS in the claims and legal services division, focusing on high-value claims.

Emma has been the Claims & Legal Services Manager since 2005 and is now Director of Claims & Litigation. She has responsibility for the claims and legal services function and also oversees claim handling for MPS Risk Solutions. She also sits as Secretary to the Claims Advisory Committee.
