How to nominate

There are two ways to enter the awards.

Option 1: Please submit a video, which should be no longer than 3 minutes long
Option 2: Please enter your nomination of 250-1000 words (CVs will not be accepted).

Please pay particular attention to the criteria for the award you are submitting a nomination for. Nominees are judged by their achievements in the category for which they have been nominated.

Multiple entries are permitted however entries will be judged on quality, not quantity.

For all awards, achievements outside of the category will be taken into account, including non legal work, contributions to the community and pro-bono work. Multiple entries are permitted. You are very welcome to nominate yourself to win an award.

Rules and guidelines

The presentations to all finalists in each category will take place at the awards dinner on 7 June 2018.

All finalists will be invited to attend (at their own cost) and will be given priority ticket allocation.

Closing date for nominations is 29 March 2018.

All nominees will be notified whether they are through to the final by 30 April 2018. Please could all nominators and nominees ensure that the date of the awards is in their diaries.

All nominations are treated as entirely confidential.

Judges Appointment process

Barker Brooks/Claims Media seek to appoint the very best of the profession each year to join the judging panel for the awards. The panel is carefully selected to ensure the selection process is fair and objective and includes experts from across the industry.

The judges are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and are required to declare any conflict of interest in entries over which they deliberate and to stand aside from deliberations concerning those entries. Judges give their time for free to judge the awards.
