Neil Hudgell Solicitor unveils London office and eyes up further expansion

Neil Hudgell Solicitors has opened up its new office in London, following the purchase of a large book of work from Harris Cartier Solicitors, which went into administration back in October.

The firm has put a team of ten ex-Harris Cartier employees in place in the Chancery Lane location, all of whom have experience of working on complex and high profile negligence and PI cases. It is also looking to recruit a further ten lawyers before the end of the year and is now considering opening more offices in other major UK cities, as it looks to establish itself as a nationally recognised PI specialist.

The London office, comprising eight legal and two administrative staff, is headed by senior litigator Kent Pattinson, a highly experienced solicitor who specialises in catastrophic injury cases particularly spinal cord injury, brain injury and amputation. Other leading members of the team include Christopher Gooderidge, a solicitor who has built a reputation with cerebral palsy birth trauma claims, and Karen McCarthy, a widely known and respected clinical negligence practitioner.

Founder and managing director Neil Hudgell said that the new office and its legal team demonstrated the firm's increased focus on complex, high value personal injury and medical negligence cases.

“As well as offering greater opportunity to raise awareness of our expertise and niche offering, our London base enables us to serve better our increasing number of clients based in the south," he said.

"Having a strong presence in London is also crucial to the development of our brand nationally.”
