Pannone places 100 staff under threat of redundancy

Pannone has warned more than 100 of its staff that they may lose their jobs, two weeks after agreeing to a merger with Slater & Gordon, according to The Lawyer.

The firm has not confirmed the figures, but The Lawyer understands that a consultation is already underway at the firm involving over 100 members of staff.

Slater & Gordon has indicated that it would take on 400 staff from Pannone as part of the merger deal, and that 50 staff would then work within Pannone Corporate, the new firm being created to take on Pannone's current commercial workload.

The Lawyer has calculated that this leaves 137 jobs under possible threat, given that the firm had a total of 587 staff at the end of the latest financial year.
