Sedgwick has rejigged its UK leadership team with an eye on growth in Europe.
Stewart Steel, chief executive officer of Sedgwick UK, the Middle East and Africa, is taking over a newly combined operating division that covers continental Europe.
Ian Muress, chief executive officer of international operations at Sedgwick, said: “I am delighted to announce Stewart’s new role following his success in leading and integrating our UK company since our businesses came together in April of last year.”
“Given his experience developing European claims operations over the past 15 years, I am confident Stewart will bring significant value in his new position as Sedgwick looks to grow our presence in this important region.”
Steel will also continue to support the UK business through a new position of chairman of Sedgwick UK and to develop client relationships.
Paul White, deputy chief executive officer of Sedgwick UK, has been promoted to lead the business.
Muress continued: “Paul is ideally suited to lead and drive the Sedgwick UK business to the next level, building on the integration successfully completed over the last 18 months. Paul’s 32 years of experience and industry knowledge will be massively beneficial as we strive for excellence in this market.”
Neil Gibson, managing director of home claims and liability claim services, is stepping up to the role of chief operating officer. He has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.
In his 14 years spent with Sedgwick, he has overseen a range of disciplines, including major and complex loss, property, forensic advisory services and liability, and most recently, he has led home claims services.
Muress concluded: “The UK clients will continue to benefit from the complementary skills, experience and market reputations of Paul, Stewart and Neil as well as the unrivalled management capability across all business lines.”
“These appointments will further strengthen our high performing UK and European leadership teams as we focus on our strategic growth to support our clients and customers.”
