Mark Stobbs

Mark Stobbs began his career by joining what was then the Lord Chancellor’s Department and worked on various pieces of legislation affecting the legal profession, including the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990. He joined the Bar Council in 1993 and was responsible for the Bar’s regulatory work and its policy on the Legal Services Act 2007. He became the first Director of the Bar Standards Board in 2006. In February 2008 he joined the Law Society as Director of Legal Policy. He is responsible for the representative part of the Society’s work on law reform, professional policy and regulation. He will be leaving the Law Society in August 2015.
