Martin Coyne

Martin is a practising solicitor, who commenced working in the legal profession during 1979. Known as an entrepreneur, he is one of the founding shareholders in 2002 of InjuryLawyers4U, and helped found and is currently national Chairman of Access to Justice (A2J)

Martin had the initial idea in 2005/2006 to establish an ATE re-insurance facility in Guernsey via the PCC model. Together with Mike Matthews, they established Guernsey Fiablé Insurance PCC Ltd, which has been and is highly successful and has provided reinsurance for Brit, DAS and Allianz – all A rated insurers.

In 2014, Martin and Mike Matthews incorporated Avantage Insurance PCC Ltd in Guernsey. Avantage focused initially on the PI market but latterly on commercial litigation reinsurance. Avantage also trades in the Irish Republic.

Martin is the Managing Director of Ralli Limited, a personal injury solicitors firm based in Manchester. Until 2014 Martin was also the Managing Partner of Ralli Solicitors LLP, which is a corporate law practice. Having cut his advocacy teeth in the criminal and civil courts during the early part of his career, he has spent the last 25 years practising litigation and managing 3 businesses. He co authored “ Living With Head Injury” published by Manchester University Press, and lectured for several years on the Manchester Law Society PI Diploma Course at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Martin lived in Pau in the south west of France and Madrid in Spain. He speaks French and Spanish.

Married in 2014 his interests include all sports, rugby union, playing golf, skiing, keeping fit, music, guitarist, good food, funding his adult children (does it ever stop?) and travel. Despite having qualified in 2000 as a RYA Yachtmaster, he doesn’t sail as much as he would wish, and so a new jet ski in Mallorca has served as a half way house!
