AXA UK has appointed a claims technical services director and refocused its efforts to improve the customer experience.
Karl Parr has joined AXA UK as its new claims technical services director. He worked for six years at Ageas UK as head of claims technical excellence.
In his new role, Parr will be responsible for overseeing technical strategy, best practice, training, the legal services unit and large loss.
His appointment comes as part of the creation of four centres of excellence at AXA UK to support the creation and maintenance of the best possible customer experience.
He will be joined by Waqar Ahmed, Rhys Moore and Nick Smith, who will lead on claims operations, claims risk and fraud, and claims transformation, respectively.
Customer and technical claims will come back together at AXA UK to create two customer facing operational areas of business.
One will focus on motor and travel claims, led by John Dacey, and the other will contend with property and casualty claims, spearheaded by Martin Ashfield.
Malik, who is executive managing director of claims at AXA UK and will oversee Parr, said: “Karl brings more than thirty years of experience in claims across all classes of general insurance and through a variety of technical, managerial and strategic leadership roles. We are looking forward to Karl joining the team and continuing to drive AXA Claims forward.”
