Steve Robson has joined Willis Re as head of London market reinsurance claims.

Robson has almost four decades of experience, which he will bring to bear on Willis Re’s dealings with clients and aligning its servicing and placement teams.

During his 36 years in the sector, Robson has worked as head of claims at BRIT, managing director of Syndicate 1884, and president of the International Association of Claims Professionals.

He has also held chairmanships at the London market CAT coordination group and its reinsurance claims practitioner group.

In his new role, Robson will lead Willis Re’s claims broking team in London, and report to global chief operating officer Chris Brook.

Commenting on Robson’s appointment, Brook said: “We are thrilled that Steve will lead Willis Re’s ongoing effort to redefine our claims offering by bringing claims advocacy to the forefront of our business.”

Robson added: “I am excited to be joining Willis Re, which is actively leading the way in bringing a quick and efficient claims service to the forefront of its business. Willis Re really understands what a client-focused claims philosophy truly is, ensuring it is adapting with the pace of change of today’s market and importantly delivering on client’s requirements in this key area of risk management.”
