BGL Insurance and Auto Windscreens launch new digital claims process

BGL Insurance has launched a new digital claims portal with long-term automotive glazing partner Auto Windscreens.

The two organisations first formed the partnership in 2013, with Auto Windscreens exclusively managing all vehicle glass claims across the motor insurance brands that BGL arranges and administers car and van insurance for, which covers more than three million motorists every year.

This latest initiative forms part of BGL Insurance’s ongoing investment into claims, as well as its wider digital transformation agenda.

BGL Insurance said the new system allows customers to quickly report a glass claim via their motor insurance portal, with all relevant data such as policy number, car registration, and insurer, securely transferred to the Auto Windscreens booking system in real-time. 

This enables customers to quickly and easily schedule an appointment with a glass technician directly, according to BGL Insurance.

Mark Townsend, managing director of motor and home, said the new digital claims portal is being implemented after BGL Insurance handled more than 21,000 glass claims from customers since the summer and to meet demand for “immediate reassurance”.

Townsend continued: “With glass generally the area that customers need to claim against the most and with windscreen repairs increasingly getting more complex with vehicle and tech advancements, we are delighted to have significantly enhanced our process in conjunction with Auto Windscreens to offer customers a rapid and simple experience.”
